The fact is that you cannot be sure that one particular station will have snow. It may be convenient to stay in a hotel just next to a ski station. Consider booking a hotel in a charming town close to several ski stations. Check the track record for snow at your ski station of interest
The climate may be changing, but it is not happening overnight (well, slowly). Be sure to look up the snow conditions in various ski areas over the last few years, or even up to the past five years. This will help you gauge the likelihood of snow during your upcoming ski vacation.
Head high up to improve your chances
As you climb every 1000 meters, the average temperature drops and by some estimates almost 10C on average. This of course is changing. As the zero-degree level is descending over time, we need to look higher for sub-zero temperatures and the freezing point.
