Some decades ago the number of sleeper trains were decreased. Steadily the number of routes that offered night services for train travellers were cut back. This year we can celebrate that new sleeper trains are about to be introduced.
In December the new line by ÖBB Nightjet (Austria) will link Paris, Munich and Vienna. There will also be a route between Amsterdam and Zurich. The new routes are specifically going to link up with Eurostar which goes through both Amsterdam and Paris.
We are happy to see that the sleeper trains are now on a comeback, as we reported as early as last year the plans to reintroduce sleeper trains in Europe.
